Roasting Lab: Upgrading to a Modified SR800 with Phidgets
In this Roasting Lab entry, I share my experience upgrading to a modified SR800 roaster with Phidgets, allowing me to track both exhaust and bean temperature through Artisan software. Along the way, I met Tyler from Black Lotus Coffee NJ, who generously shared green bean samples, a bean cooler, and his famous Mexican coffee while showing me his Valenta 8 roaster setup. The upgrade and the experience reminded me how much knowledge and kindness fuel the coffee community.
